It was another hard night to sleep after yesterday’s 9-8 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. I found myself watching the TV series
Twin Peaks, which surprisingly make more sense than what’s going on with our Chicago Cubs, to try to get my mind off the game. It was another game that tested the minds and hearts of Cub fans. The Cubs lose games like no other team in the history of sports. Every unimaginable loss becomes reality. I, for one, tried to come up with a comparison as to how it feels to be a Cubs fan. What I came up with is how a parent feels when they have a troubled teenager they just can’t give up on. I’ll tell you why later.

While the Chicago Cubs have played a fair amount of games, it’s time for the Cubs to start evaluating their weaknesses. The Cubs bullpen, considered a strength going into the season, has been a major problem for the team. The Cubs have also had to deal with musical chairs in the outfield due to TOO many quality players. The Cubs have also had to deal with a rash of injuries and inconsistent play. Over the last 2 days I have been working my tail off to get some issues resolved. Without going into too much detail, we were being attacked by some serious hackers. To be honest… they were winning!
None the less we are back online, SORT OF! As you can tell we have this generic layout for now, but once I have the time I will be adding our old layout back to the site.
Thanks for continuing to check back I am sorry that we have not be able to offer much on the topic of the cubs… Soon we will be back on track.

The Des Moines Register that Neal Cotts is being sent to Iowa while Sean Marshall is being called up. This comes just a day or two after Angel Guzman was sent to the bullpen, so it appears that Marshall is now the Cubs’ fifth starter. Given that Marshall pitched very well in his last minor league start, going eight strong innings while yielding just a couple hits and one run, I’d imagine that he’ll perform a little better than Angel Guzman.

This was quite a great weekend for the Chicago Cubs. No matter what anyone says about this series being just “another series”, the Cubs versus their south side counterparts are always big series. This was the first big series for the Chicago Cubs and they came up big. The Cubs won the series 2 games to 3 while losing the final game of the series 10-6 this Sunday. Should there be celebrating over the series victory? Yes, there should be. Should the Cubs have swept this series versus the Chicago White Sox? Yes, we should have.
